Palestinians in Gaza, Israel agree to cease-fire

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Militants in Hamas-ruled Gaza agreed Sunday to a weeklong cease-fire with Israel, after three weeks of violence that Palestinian medics say has killed more than 1,000 people and turned Gaza's streets into battlegrounds.

Sunday's announcement came about 12 hours after Israel declared its own unilateral ceasefire.

Hamas' Syrian-based deputy leader, speaking for the militant Palestinian factions, said on Syrian television that the cease-fire will give Israel time to withdraw and open all the border crossings to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.

An Israeli security chief told Cabinet ministers the military operation "is not over" and that the next few days would be critical to determining whether it would resume.

As I said 4 years ago, in terms of the global confluence, Iran remains the last serious threat (nut to crack) to end global militancy. Israel, I think can now solve the Palestine issue, if they dont get to Jew with the w.bank, and give em a break, and follow the plan, and hopefully OBAMA will lean on them to do so. For Israel it would be touch and go, to trust ABBAS, but I think he would be trustworthy being more interested in helping his people than carrying ideology baggage. Taliban and Al Quaida and W.Pakieland, can be handled by some more troops guarding the border (OBAMA is on it with 30K more), and deployment of a large fleet of night vision precision predator drones, and just go hunting, at nights, with a joy stick back in the pup tents safe, thats kind of like in the TERMINATOR, and slowly take em out one by one, as Osama, hiding in cave rages JIHAD, until they quit, and that sucker is taken out.

India could do an end run around Pakistan, if they dont shape up, but I dont think that will be necessary, hell, stock market tanked and they rioted, and US could naked short them into collapse at stroke of JPM derivative blast, but, I think recent cooperation showed in the end the pakies will cooperate, and will keep them from going nuclear, and pakies will try to sit on the eastern crazies.

1) US pays for security force training W.Bank police to sit on the crazies, (as usual) and gaza chills out;
2) US blockades Iran to enforce IAEA nuke compliance, with a possible major strike at land facilities in a gulf of tonken redo.
3) US sells more MOAB/jet aero-tankers to Israel for the strategic diversion of a fake out strike on Iran, just to get the sheep of montana just a little to nervous, then FULL ON USA BLOCKADE, all borders, with air/naval stand-off, and dare them to strike the blockaders. THEY WOULD ROLL in a heart beat, because HE and THEY are ALL TALK and he is a coward, their economy would implode, and the Mullahs are discredited. GAME OVER

As soon as OBAMA gets in, he should prepare for a massive pull on the stragetic oil reserve in anticipation of the Iranian blockade showdown. He should direct the FED to have JPM, to buy long massive oil futures using derivatives (JPM is expert at that, see manipulation of the bullion markets), and could even now buy oil at such low prices and top off the strategic oil reserve, so as to be prepared for another oil shock, if the Arabs play the boycott card in sympathy for the Iranians, though I doubt that, seeing how Saudi Arabia is now making noise about acquiring the BOMB, being scared by the Iranian prospective BOMB and their long rang missle delivery systems.

The blockade should be a US-Iran party only, Israel and the corrupt UN are not invited. Land/Air/Naval complete Blockade conditions are simple, no flights out of Iran (use shoot-down air assests), no interterritorial pilgramages (use predator drones for enforcement), Iran oil for US food and medicine, only, and nothing else particularly refined gasoline. If Iran sends out suicide bombers into Iraq or Afghanistan after US assets, or sends cruise missiles at the blockading fleet, or attacks Israel, the US should then take em out, and that includes the military command structures, the controlling Mullahs themselves and Admajinedah himself, missile facilities, and nuke facilities, but not their oil facilities, not transportation infrastructure facilities, not the Russian build reactor,(as we want Russia in play, they want the re-processing business and we need them to keep a close eye on the Iranians, and it makes Putin feel important, he loves that, so give him a heads up, and he may disclose known Iranian defenses, along with the UN IAEA inspectors). Peace terms: Women can vote, only elected officials in charge, no funding to Hezbalah or Hamas or any other terror organizaition, eg PPK-Turkey, except through the UN food and building and reconstruction in GAZA/Lebanon, and complete UN IAEA compliance, with the Russians reprocessing nuke fuels or monitoring the same in Iran.

[SIDE BAR: The current economic problem comes from the inherent nature of fiat money (the projection of power beyond means), practiced socialism (degrading society and increasing debt), suppression of real money bullion (that honest money that extinquishes debt), and 1000T$ of unregulated counterparty risk OTC dervatives (providing a cascading domino effect of a string of interrelated banking failures that was triggered by the subprime crises). The two biggest players are JP Morgan (The FED RES's bank in drag) and BoA, with GoldmanSach running the over sea gold suppression game, to maintain a strong dollar. BoA stock is diving, and with another 10B$ of rescue money enroute. JPM is critical, and its share price is falling apart as I write. JMP 20$/share is a critical level and nearly there. These two surviving banks are on the edge. The reason is their OTC derivative books are blowing up as I write, and the government can not really stop it. They have used derivatives to suppress bullion, among other things to control markets at the direction of the gov. JPM is running for the hills trying to close out their naked short derivatives suppressing gold, which is partly why GOLD could really launch here, (while advising clients through down grades to sell the miners which has a vicarious suppression effect on bullion prices) In other words, what they do behind close doors is counter to their advice to their own clients. ITS A RACKET. But nothing new there. Im currently watching JPM share price, their derivative books, and the price of gold. See shadowstats, a private statistic site publishes THE REAL numbers, not the propaganda numbers from the FED and GOV, and have indicated 17% decrease in manufacturing, which is greater than 10%, and hence, WE HAVE BEEN IN DEPRESSION mode for two quarters, and recession mode for 5 quarters. Israeli Cabinet prepares for cease-fire vote

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Israeli aircraft pounded 50 Hamas positions early Saturday, keeping pressure on the Islamic militant group as the country's top leaders prepared for a crucial vote on whether to end Israel's punishing three-week-long campaign against Gaza's rulers.

The vote on the Egyptian-brokered truce proposal follows a signing of a "memorandum of understanding" in Washington between Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni that calls for expanded intelligence cooperation between their two countries to prevent Hamas from rearming.

Livni called the deal, reached on the final working day of the Bush administration, "a vital complement for a cessation of hostility." It paved the path for Saturday night's vote in the 12-member Security Cabinet.

Timing is critical for full propaganda value. Do perfect a cease fire, even if unilateral, during Obama's inauguration, showing some restraint in honoring our first black president. If HAMAS violates that timely cease fire, the more you gain on the propaganda front.

It is time to Free the West Bank under ABBAS over FATAH in Ramalah. Provide ABBAS all support necessary to sit on the crazies there, as he well knows that Israeli battle tanks can rumble through Ramalah in a heart beat if he fails in any significant way.

Hamas chief: We will not accept Israeli conditions

DOHA, Qatar – The Hamas political chief rejected Israel's conditions for a Gaza cease-fire and demanded an immediate opening of the besieged territory's borders, taking a tough line Friday as he asked a summit of Arab countries to back him by cutting off any ties with Israel.

"We will not accept Israel's conditions for a cease-fire," the Syrian-based Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal told the summit in the Qatari capital Doha. He said Hamas demands that "the aggression stop," Israeli troops withdraw and crossings into Gaza be opened immediately.

CAIRO, Egypt – The Palestinian Authority president urged both Israel and Hamas to agree to an Egypt-brokered truce Saturday, but he singled out the Jewish state, saying it would be responsible for a "waterfall of blood" if it didn't accept the deal.

Mahmoud Abbas was in Cairo Saturday for talks with Egyptian officials on a truce to end the fighting in the Gaza Strip, now in its 15th day. In a news conference Saturday after meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Abbas stressed there was no time to waste in ending the bloodshed in Gaza, home to 1.4 million people.

"If any party does not accept it (the truce), regrettably it will be the one bearing the responsibility, and if Israel doesn't want to accept, it will take the responsibility of perpetuating a waterfall of blood," Abbas told reporters.

The Palestinian leader also said he hopes Hamas, which controls Gaza, will agree to a cease-fire without "hesitation." Abbas said that so far, he has not heard any serious reservations from Hamas to the Egyptian proposal.

However, Hamas and other Syria-based Palestinian militant groups Saturday rejected deploying international observers or troops in Gaza — one idea that has been discussed to bring peace to the region.

But Obama did instilled hope in those seeking improvement of their poor lot, and now, he is showing some leadership, whether you agree with it our not, in proposing huge gov projects and tax cuts. War got us out of the last depression, and hopefully, massive infrastructure spending coupled with tax cuts will keep us from another. Hope and a better place can be powerful, when people feel depressed, or suppressed, and the better one has a vision of that better destination, the more that people will support a move toward it.

Israel leaders must instill hope in the Palestinians of a land free from occupation, and that can only come about if they make a break from their terror ways, and, as that is based upon deep rooted cultural hate and terror, you must change their psychology from within their brains. You have to first pound them into fright, misery, and dismay that will lead to a sense of hopelessness in the false hope that terror brings, to get them on the couch for treatment, for the attitude adjustment, when they get it that this terror plan just aint working, and then give them new hope, in a different way, and you show them the way to peace is that new hope, that good behavior has its rewards. You give them hope by showing that FATAH can live in peace with Israel in a free land, and that the destination is there in reach, and change their mind set in the method of achieving peace and independence. If Fatah can do it in the W.Bank, so can we in GAZA. When they realize they have been betrayed in the false hope of terror, only then will they drop their terror ways and their Iranian terror sponsor, through self interest in the actual result of their FATAH brothers. Here, and now, you have at last, the perfect scenario to perfect this change, the attitude adjustment necessary, a bloody split between FATAH and HAMAS, with separation by Israel between the W.Bank and GAZA, with a hot war going on in GAZA, and relative peace in the W.Bank. You must now make the destination clear, by granting the W.Bank immediate statehood, under ABBAS and FATAH. After years of atonement for 1947, the following tears, the killing, the prayers, God has answered Israel's and my prayers, and have blessed Israel with the perfect set up. DON’T BE STUPID. Follow my game plan.

Israel should insist that UN, EU, Egypt, or whoever, put up 50K combat troops in GAZA to obtain a cease fire, that would go nowhere, thereby provide a minimal amount of political cover to continue the pounding of GAZA. Further still, Israel must pound the table that the rockets must be stopped and the tunnels stopped. I now realized that this to was an empty request, because it aint going to happen, and hence, I congratulate you on the political posturing, because it provides further political cover, necessary and beneficial to the continued pounding of GAZA, a sad but necessary move to prefect the desired attitude adjustment. While in public you demand the rockets stop, but in fact, you let them to continue to dribble in, for the continued political cover to support the continue pounding of GAZA, a necessary means, to prefect the desired attitude adjustment.

But that is only half the strategy, causing them just misery. You must push and pull. You must pound GAZA while showing a destination of a better alternative to terror through an exemplar free state of Palestine under ABBAS controlled by FATAH in the West Bank with the Capital of Ramalah in PALESTINE, a free nation, and get that going now in back channels, and perfect it when the time is right, when the outcries from GAZA are loud and deafening.

Gaza: international plan hatched to bring back Fatah

A plan to create a new foothold in Gaza for the Palestinian Authority and to bring in international monitors was being drawn up by diplomats yesterday as a UN ceasefire call was dismissed by both sides.

The plan would allow a return of the authority, led by the secular Fatah faction, to the territory 18 months after it was expelled by the Islamist Hamas. Diplomats are considering taking a triangle at the southern end of Gaza, including the Rafah crossing to Egypt and the Kerem Shalom crossing to Israel, to be policed by Turkish and French military monitors to stop arms smuggling into Gaza.

The zone would nominally be controlled by the authority, the internationally recognised Government. Such a plan would allow the crossings to reopen for the first time since Hamas seized power in Gaza in June 2007.

Offer all kinds of goodies, rights of transit, oil sharing of off shore oil, food aid, with UN assistance, and some work projects.

Have ABBAS declare HAMAS a terror organization, yet understand he will slam Israel for the brutality. But that is ok. Sticks and Stones. Let the Palestinian flag wave free over a suitable capital city in the west bank, not Jewerselem, keep it shared and divided. Maybe the general frame work of the OSLOW convention. Get ABBAS in front of the UN NOW. GAZA can be integrated into Palestine when GAZA chill out, and accepts Israel's right to exist. Palestine (west bank) under ABBAS would be an independent state, RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW!.

Of course ABBAS will sign, but slam Israel for its brutality in GAZA. Don’t let that concern you, it is mere talk for domestic political consumption, a good thing actually, to keep him in power. PALESTINE and ISRAEL national police forces will be charged with protecting jews and arabs in the two respective side by side countries.

Bring up ABBAS' stature by showing positive results for good behavior (relatively), and concurrently bring down HAMAS' stature by negative results (brutal suppression of GAZA) for bad behavior (rockets). You will get partial recognition of rights to exsit from your enemies, half of which would be at least neutral.

Look, BOLD moves are needed to break the dead lock. Don’t get jew with them, and try to negotiate every advantage. BE GENEROUS with a BOLD MOVE granting W.Bank immediate statehood and promises of aid. Try to get ABBAS under the new state to declare HAMAS a terror organization until they renounce terrorism and join the Palestine (West Bank).

Now, as far as thos EU pricks and the Egyptians wanting a cease fire, PUT IT TO THEM!! EU, you immediately land 50,000 COMBAT troop and sit on the crazies, and Israel will have a cease fire. You know that wont go anywhere, but at least you call them on their appeasement and empty initiatives. For the Egyptians, offer them to annex GAZA provided that they to dispose 50,000 COMBAT troops for the purpose of sitting on the crazies, and make it clear, that if they fail, Israel will move back in, and Egypt don’t want war with Israel in GAZA, as that would be a tactical nightmare for them. You know that will go nowhere, as well, but you put the attention of their empty initiatives as well. RESPOND to the UN ask for 100,000 COMBAT troops as well, and tell them there has been no peace to keep for 60 years. MAKE THEM ALL LOOK SILLY!!! (And use the appropriate language, you know, sarcastic responses, get mean and nasty in response, shock their sensitivity, wake them up to their own appeasement, saying it their appeasement that has caused all of this in the first instance).

Now, with the W.Bank now a state, without much violence, (sure there will be some, but at least ABBAS will try to sit on the crazies), and getting some international help and goodies, while, IN STARK contrast GAZA is getting pounded, starve, blockaded, destroyed, devastated, etc.. That impact will discredit HAMAS and its terror way.

You must break the cycle of embedded cultural terrorism, starting at the top, and the only way to do that is through a brutal war that will provide any chance of producing long term peace. Otherwise you are simply murdering your own troops in vain in the present action. You must blockade Gaza, and starve them out. You must pound Gaza until it is a mass of rubble. You must take out HAMAS leadership, one by one, until their command structure is destroyed. You must begin operation "rolling thunder", and draw an East-West line, and starting from Israel southern border, and moving the line south, mile by mile, leaving a track of inhospitable devastation in its wake. Stand off and pound, blockade, and minimize your own casualties. At the same time, have your SURRENDER and PEACE TREATY in HAND, waving it clearly for all to see, proclaiming at all times, Israel is ready for PEACE anytime HAMAS and the Palestinians are ready for PEACE. Take the high road in the propaganda wars. Look, you have practically no friends. The EU has already surrendered to the terrorists with their appeasement. Russia and China are selling advanced missile technology to Iran. The US under Barrack will be anti-war. Netanyahu is reluctant to agree to a Palestinian state before he knows what kind of state it will be. That elementary prudence should be shared by anyone who's been sentient the last three years. The Palestinians already have a state, an independent territory with not an Israeli settler or soldier living on it. It's called Gaza. And what is it? A terror base, Islamist in nature, Iranian-allied, militant and aggressive, that has fired more than 10,000 rockets and mortars at Israeli civilians.

If this is what a West Bank state is going to be, it would be madness for Israel or America or Jordan or Egypt or any other moderate Arab country to accept such a two-state solution. Which is why Netanyahu insists that the Palestinian Authority first build institutions -- social, economic and military -- to anchor a state that could actually carry out its responsibilities to keep the peace.

Apart from being reasonable, Netanyahu's two-state skepticism is beside the point. His predecessor, Ehud Olmert, worshiped at the shrine of a two-state solution. He made endless offers of a two-state peace to the Palestinian Authority -- and got nowhere.
